Dr. Bobbie Beth Scoggins

Dr. Bobbie Beth Scoggins’ career has been primarily in education and the nonprofit sector. Soon after earning her doctorate degree, she became executive director of the Kentucky Commission on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing with a 14-year tenure with KCDHH. She brought national recognition to Kentucky for being one of the most progressive states in deaf and hard of hearing services. She was credited with establishing a state law for licensing interpreters, an educational resource center on deafness, universal newborn hearing screening, insurance coverage for hearing aids, mental health programs for deaf and hard of hearing people, TV captioning, and a statewide videoconferencing network. In 2007, she became chief operations officer of Communication Service for the Deaf, responsible for all aspects of CSD’s human services divisions, including community interpreting, and national programs and services. She is currently the director of the Educational Statewide Resource Center on Deafness for her alma mater, Texas School for the Deaf.
